Sports Nutrition for Kids

Interview with Lauren Lowrey about what foods and how much you should be feeding your kids if they participate in sports. All kids from elementary to high school will need more calories each day to help fuel their sport performance. These young athletes could need 500-1,000 additional calories per day. Also remembering to include healthy snacks will help ensure that they are fueled properly.

Removing Trans Fats from the Food Supply

Interview with Lauren Lowrey about the FDA's announcement regarding Trans Fats that was released on June 16th, 2015. By the year 2018 all Trans Fats will be removed from food items and restaurants will be required to use another type of fat when they fry food items. This is a huge step for FDA to help improve the safety of foods and help improve customer's health.

American companies now have a deadline of when they have to completely cut trans fats out of food.

Interview with Lauren Lowrey about ways to eat healthier this New Year. With a focus on healthy and nutrition, it is important to keep some of these nutrition tips in mind. Remember to include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet as you work to get fit in 2015.

Healthy Choices at the Indiana State Fair 

The Indiana State Fair is a place where people go to see 4-H projects on display, animal shows, go on rides on the midway and eat fair food. It is important to remember moderation as you head out to the State Fair!
