Passing the test

“We did it Joe!”
— Kamala Harris, 2020

I love this quote from Kamala Harris and the moment following the 2020 election.

Well this last month I had my own exciting moment to celebrate ... I passed the Board Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition 🎉 This test and I have a history. I am so incredibly proud of being able to have the support of my employer to sit for this exam, carving out time to study and then embracing my own insecurities to do something that is hard. I have embraced failure over the years, but I also have demonstrated resiliance to not give up and keeping going to reach the goal - passing the test!

This test is not required for my job, but I am firm believer in maintaining this certification to prove my knowledge and expertise in pediatric nutrition. These CDR exams are no joke - they require 2,000 hours of practice experience within the last 5 years + study time for a 150 question exam. Also they are notoriously hard! Over the years how the questions are presented change and how they are graded also changes. It can be tough to study, because there is so much information that is covered.

So today, I am taking a moment to embrace the feeling of joy and happiness ❤️ in accomplishing this goal and I am so thankful that this is process is done, at least for another 5 years. You can do hard things 💪
